5 Steps To Motivation

Motivation is the driving force to achieve your goals. You are surrounded by competing priorities and noise to get your attention. You can get buried under your day to day responsibilities and your vision may become lost. My five steps are:

  1. Get crystal clear clarity on your goals. What is it you want? What do you want to achieve?

  2. Create your Perfect Day on paper. What would your day look like if it was exactly what you wanted? What time would you get up? Where would you be? What work would you be doing? With whom? Be sure to make it a holistic life and career day.

  3. Develop, 3-5 action steps to achieve thee goals and put them directly in your diary.

  4. Create a vision board which can be pictures or photos either on a physical board or on your computer or phone and visualise yourself achieving them. How would you feel? That feeling is so important to know it and feel it daily.

  5. Create a schedule and stick to it. The best way is to ask yourself with every item on your to do list, does this take me toward or away from my goal. Regularly check your progress, for example, once per week and celebrate your progress.

You must have completed the Perfect Day exercise and created what I call the Shiny Future which will pull you forward and through the hard times. Keep that in mind and allow that to motivate you.
